2011-12-doc1 Security rights in Article 5 EU InsReg

In April 2011, during a guest lecture at one of Amsterdam's Universities, I met Robbert Walstra. He announced his study, in Dutch, regarding Article 5 EU InsReg. Walstra now has provided an English summary. See enclosed.Summary_master's_thesis_to_prof_Wessels

2011-12-doc2 NVRII launch - great success!

The Netherlands Association for Comparative and International Insolvency Law (NVRII) had its first Annual conference, December 8, 2012, with discussions regarding reports of professor Loes Lennarts (Utrecht) and professor Fransisco Garcimartín (Madrid). These reprots and the discussions will be published in due course. A website for NVRII is under construction. Early 2012 I will further approach non-Dutch colleagues to join the Association, which now has around 120 members. See the attached invitation. 2011-12-doc3 Lecture in Cagliari (Sardinia, Italy)

Mid December I addressed an audience of some 200 people, both lawyers (from the Cagliari Bar Association) and students (form the law faculty of the Cagliari University.locandina_alfa_2 The topic was group insolvencies, to which by the way Italy may be congretulated as the largest contributor to the development of the EU Insolvency Regulation (see e.g. Eurofood/Parmalat, Air Italia, Interedil and Rastelli et Davide, published 15 December, on the day of my lecture). Rather special was the way I was introduced, being compared with Messi and Ferrari!   _presentation

2011-12-doc4 INSOL Europe Academic Forum meets 28/29 June 2012 in Nottingham

INSOL Europe's Academic Forum's first half year meeting in 2012 will be in Nottingham, UK, at the premises of the Nottingham Law School. In recent years the Forum's meetings generally attract over 50 attendees, many of them researchers, including professors, PhD-authors and students, with full opportunity to meet, exchange ideas and discuss.
